Canon filed for the patent on November 22, 2013. The Japanese-based manufacturer received a patent on June 4, 2015. The patent description claims the lens will be around 124mm, while its weight is unknown. The internal configuration is not mentioned, but it seems that the Canon EF 10mm f 2.8L USM lens will have at least a dozen elements. It has L marks and an Ultrasonic Motor, which means the image will be sharp and the autofocus will be fast as well as silent. This device advertises itself as an expensive lens.
